Leap 2008

Take a Leap In Your Life

a major leap i am (continuously) taking in 2008 is to live with intention rather than allowing/forcing things to happen. for me, living with intention means paying more attention, taking more care, seeking deeper clarity, opening up/letting go as appropriate, increased reflexivity, comprehensive honesty and otherwise taking the time to make each moment in this year's journey a deliberate step. it also means forgoing coolness or disaffection (i.e. masks of fear) and letting my natural optimism and enthusiasm become a positivity practice. affirmations still feel a bit corny, but they also work. trying them ... living posi ... is definitely a leap.

thus far, i've discovered that living with intention becomes increasingly easier. it also creates opportunities to not only change and grow in your own life, but to honor, support and appreciate the change and growth with/in others. the ongoing challenge is to deal with the unavoidable pain that also results. relationships change, circumstances shift and these moments can be incredibly painful. there are always moments when i wonder if i should stop now - if this is enough - just to avoid hurting myself or others. however, with the commitment to intentionality comes the commitment to follow through. how can their be a true upper limit to honesty, to a full love (that necessarily comes with some pain), or to growth? no, even (or especially) in those moments i realize that this is a time to ... well, to leap.

leaping into intentionality has been a complicated, but thus far surprisingly satisfying, choice. i plan to keep doing it.
